A large collection of multidisciplinary materials in visual and textual formats, made accessible to us by our source collaborators, will be organized to allow integrated access by users from the science education community, that is elementary school through college level teachers. QUEST will be structured so as to provide seamless access to widespread resources on disparate subjects. We intend to provide first-rate subject analysis and representation in order to provide ready access. QUEST will be accessible nationally by means of Mosaic. We propose to provide highly sophisticated querying, browsing and information investigation facilities which will handle integrated textual and visual materials without difficulty. They will be augmented by online reference and referral services, immediately accessible by the user. QUEST will provide a comprehensive information resource for science education accessible through a dynamic, visual user interface.

Gradual Learning of Science in a CSCL Environment and the Quest of Epistemologically Sophisticated Learners
We have implemented an instructional design for teaching mechanics that combines a Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) environment with traditional instruction. We detected superior performance compared with traditional teaching alone and found evidence in favor of the position that certain kinds of epistemological beliefs held by students can inhibit the full realization of CSCL e...
متن کاملQuest, an OWL 2 QL Reasoner for Ontology-based Data Access
Ontology Based Data Access (OBDA) has drawn considerable attention from the OWL and RDF communities. In OBDA, instance data is accessed by means of mappings, which state the relationship between the data in a data source (e.g., an RDBMSs) and the vocabulary of an ontology. In this paper we present Quest, a new system for OBDA focused on fast and efficient reasoning with large ontologies and lar...

Background and Aim: Information systems cannot be well designed or developed without a clear understanding of needs of users, manner of their information seeking and evaluating. This research has been designed to analyze the Ganj (Iranian research institute of science and technology database) users’ query refinement behaviors via log analysis. Methods: The method of this research is log anal...

متن کاملAnalysis of Source-to-Target Model Transformations in QueST
Query Structured Model Transformation (QueST) is a framework for defining source-to-target Model Transformations (MTs) in a structured and declarative manner. In this paper, we study how MT-related properties can be analyzed in QueST. Each MT in QueST is equivalent to a logical theory and checking properties for the MT is equivalent to analyzing correctness of such properties (i.e., demonstrati...
